Important Processes to follow in Outsourcing and Why?
I am writing about why I think certain processes are important in an offshore-onshore team relationship. This is purely based on my experience and I believe it could be applied to most in this area and will add value to their business.
Daily Video call
In additional to discussing requirements and business over emails and chat, a video call will create a bond between the members of a team. Since in outsourcing, people are based in different locations, this will help build a strong client relationship with a team.
When you have a video call you see each other (facial expressions and body language) this makes the meeting more personal and will gradually help build a better understanding and a friendly relationship.
Most video conferencing solutions offer recordings and storage solutions which allow businesses to save and archive important online meetings. These recorded sessions can also be used as future training tools or for compliance regulations.
Finally, many video conferencing solutions allow users to share presentations, data, and other media whilst on a video conference call, being able to share data at the same time increases productivity.
Weekly Analysis of a team with management
Many see this as a time-consuming Exercise, as normally there won’t be much to talk about every week, and you end up repeating the same points. Even the best weekly meetings could become unnecessary once you are in good rapport with your team.
But this a good way to solve minor issues in a team without actually escalating them.
For example, if you think one of the team members is not proactive but he is finishing all works in a good manner, you wouldn’t want to escalate anything. But still you could mention your concern in a weekly meeting and expect some changes.
Better put, you might catch a problem at its base before it escalates into a surmountable problem.
Workshop before project start
Also called as "rules of a cooperation”, this meeting will help us have a clear idea on a point of contacts, preferences and tools you are going to use prior to a project start. It will help you have a clear idea on what to do, what to use and whom to contact in all possible situations.
Hope this is helpful to you in some way…
