A social marketplace where people can shop together for less is one of the hottest retail trends in the online marketplace. The basic concept is the power of combined purchasing power to earn discounts. Word-of-mouth recommendations and referrals are the most important factors in making purchasing decisions on this kind of platform.
Southeast Asia's leading fintech media firm based in South Jakarta, Indonesia, reached out to us to build a Social Commerce (aka Social/Group/Bulk Purchase) e-commerce platform.
Requirement Outline
The client wanted to launch the e-commerce platform to facilitate community group buys in the Indonesian online market. This platform is especially for selling meat.
A group of people who are interested in the same product or service can place their order to get a bulk purchase discount. The leader of the group can initiate the purchase by putting the required quantity of the product in his/her cart. Other interested people in the group can put the needed quantity of the same product in their respective carts. The created group will lapse after the expiry time.
The client required our tech experts to build an MVP of the platform, which is multilingual and multi-vendor. It will also be integrated with a referral bonus program. SMS and email alerts will inform interested buyers in the group about possible group buying products and the group expiry date.
The group-buying tool is to act as a platform wherein consumers can pool their purchase volume together to drive quantity discounts from the merchants. The client has plans to sell this platform to different vendors whereas a group of meat sellers can use it as their own brand.

It was a challenge to apply Kaspro to the platform as the document was in Bahasa. Our experts meticulously carried out the integration.
