The six-day sports gala saw energetic participation from IT professionals. The winners are: Futsal – Mozanta; Table Tennis – Nedudesic; Penalty Shootout - Cognizant (CTS); Badminton Men’s Doubles – TCS; Badminton Women’s Doubles – TCS; and Badminton Mixed Dobules – EY. The closing ceremony was a magnificent one jazzed up by a Flash Mob by Bridgys.

The session was led by Sukesh Chand an accomplished software engineer with more than 15 years of experience in Microsoft .NET stack, databases, integration architecture, and R&D. The session dealt with:

• Neural Networks
• Understanding ML libraries and services
• Different types of algorithms used in ML
• How to choose an algorithm based on a problem.
• Learn to write some real ML codes

The session was led by Ebin Paulose, a versatile full stack developer at Bridge Global. The topics covered were:

• Introduction to NLP
• Introduction to Python NLTK
• Outputting query results
• Integration of machine learning algorithms with NLTK
• Naive Bayes Classifier with NLTK

The presenter was Blessy Alexander, a Microsoft-certified full stack developer with 8+ years of competitive experience in .Net application development and web technologies. The topics covered were:

• Installing Azure Data Studio and connecting to Azure SQL Database
• Writing SQL queries in the T-SQL editor
• Outputting query results
• Creating custom code snippets and creating insight dashboards
• Backing up a SQL database
• Git support in Azure Data Studio

The presenter was Jithesh K T, Senior Software Programmer at Bridge Global. The topics covered were,

• A quick introduction on the Dart programming language focusing on why Dart is the language used for Flutter
• System configurations for development and widget concepts of Flutter.

The event witnessed massive participation (more than 100 teams in total) from the IT/ITES companies of the region. The match was kicked off by Prof. KV Thomas.

Geojit Technologies, TCS Kochi and Neudesic were the champions. Winners got a whopping cash prize of INR 1.5 lakhs and other exciting gifts. We thank everyone for their exciting and committed participation. The event was conducted as a great platform to programmers to team up and write a great code that proves their potential and serves a purpose. A selection of 10 topics from diverse verticals were provided on the start date of the contest. Each team could pick up any one topic and create a solution that intelligently solves a problem/fill a gap in the selected topic. The key here is to make something worthwhile that will enhance our life.

IT Futsal Challenge 2018 is the successor of its first edition (IT Futsal Challenge 2017), which was a huge hit. About 64 teams from various IT/ITES companies of Kerala participated in the event.

Aabasoft Technologies, Geojith Financial Services, and E&Y secured the first, second and third positions respectively for the Futsal competition. Cognizant Technology Solutions and Fingent Technology Solutions won the first and second positions respectively for Women’s Penalty Shootout. Congrats winners!

The free event was planned as a worthwhile gathering of all the blockchain beginners who are unsure about whom to turn to for guidance. It was a great opportunity to know the basics of the crypto technology from early adopters, who are already part of the virtual currency realm.

The event was indeed a remarkable success and helped IT professionals in the region to strengthen their informal bond.
